Visiting Mimmie

It's been a windy day, but calmer now this evening.  There was showers this morning, and cleared to a sunny day.  Some showers again tonight.

Up early, and spring cleaning continues.  Skirting boards, doors and hall getting a makeover, and plenty of dusting and cleaning too.  I also managed to get two loads of washing out on the line.  Walkies with Sammy and met up with Julie and Keba.  Me, peerie Brian and Julie headed out west for a run, and to the Skeld hall for a car boot sale and teas.  Niece Elise and mam came by before teatime for quick visit.  A quiet evening at home, more walkies, but mostly feet up and telly on.

On our way back, we stopped off to see Julie's aunt Mimmie (Scott).  She was pleased to see us, and welcomed in her home.  She was well, turning 97 this year, and she was happy to look through old family photos and happy memories.  As far as my photo from yesterday goes, this is pretty much how Keetie's house once looked too.  When I was growing up in the 1980s, this was a very standard croft house style, most in Shetland would have been very similar.  Taken at Leon, Sand.
