Sitting pretty
A lazy morning sorting travel arrangements for future events. No trains on Friday to Monday between Perth and Inverness so looks like Richard will have to travel by bus to meet us in Glasgow on Friday, luckily we go on Thursday.
The sun was shining and lovely blue skies between very heavy rain / hail storms. It was like someone had turned the lights off it was sooo dark.
A spring on the settee has broken so Mike has fixed it temporarily until a new spring arrives.
Took a drive over to Strathpeffer and had a short walk at Loch Kinellan, dark clouds approaching fast so did not want to get soaked. Quite a few ducks on the water all calling to each other and the two swans look they have found a new nesting area. Never seen the water quite that high before, the reed beds real the carpark were flooded with water and the fields near the River Conon water logged with the River bursting it’s banks in places.
These chickens were huddled together under a bush, must have given them lots of shelter as they looked dry and one was having a dust bath.
A tasty Ploughman’s in the cafe at the old railway station and then home admiring the snow covered mountains on the way. Saw at least 6 kites.
Mikes mum phoned. She is waiting to have an op on her shoulder and will hopefully find out when tomorrow. It’s their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on Thursday so hope it is not then !
