Yamanobe-na-Michi - part 2
I made it to Nara, and I only lost my way a few times - once in a beautiful bamboo forest. I had a very rough map in Japanese and there were enough signs to know roughly where I was. This part of the trail is rarely used and I didn’t see many other people. I passed a lot of cultivated land, and some small-scale farming. It didn’t seem wealthy at all. There were times when I felt I could have been anywhere, and I turned a corner and there was a Tori gate, a carved stone, a small Buddha.. It was an interesting experience.
