Thursday: Civic Centre

So, conference is over and now I have a couple of days off to explore Denver with K,

We started off with breakfast at Union Station, following which we had a good wonder around downtown. The architecture is lovely - quite historical, and I particularly liked Civic Centre, seen here, with music and food trucks.

We then decamped from Lower Downtown (LoDo) to River North (RiNo) - see what they like to do here? It's an artsy district, not far from downtown.

Our neighbourhood is great - very lively and eclectic. We found two great breweries, 'Great Divide' and 'Jagged Mountain'.

I'm a bit worried that I can come across as beer obsessed, so just a short word about microbreweries - we do like the beer, but they are such interesting spaces. Each one is completely different, with different demographics, style, ambience etc and they are just a great slice of local life. They are a far cry from generic pubs and you can get into such interesting conversations with people.

On that note, 'This Beer Really Ties The Room Together', at 'Jagged Mountain' was one of the best beers we've tasted.....ever.
