Lake District Day 1

Chris and I got up early (ish) this morning and headed to the Lakes-our Christmas present from Dan and Dad. We visited Ambleside first, had lunch, went on a boat on Windermere, visited Wray Castle, checked into our hotel, walked around the hotel grounds, had tea, walked around Windermere town, returned to the hotel for a video call home, went downstairs for a delicious chocolate brownie with orange ice cream and a cuppa and then collapsed in an exhausted heap!!

A very busy but enjoyable day. I'm looking forward to exploring the area a bit more tomorrow. I can't believe that we've never visited this area properly before.
