Diary of an Edinburgher

Visitors!

Many thanks for all the good wishes during yet another of my little hospital sojourns. Let's hope it's the last (for a while at least).

It was lovely to be home and in my own bed, and to be woken up by Archie plonking himself on my chest then lying back with his head on my face. Nice.

Lots of visitors today, starting with Anne, who used to take Archie out, but moved back to the USA. She's back here for a friend's wedding. He remembered her and gave her a big welcome. Unlike the un-special one he reserves for his mums! He ripped the ear off his new toy within minutes.

When she'd gone, Rufus and his mum popped in, bearing gifts - home made Ricotta pancakes and strawberries! Yum.

Then Elizabeth came to take a frantic Archie out for his Saturday adventure.

Our friends from New Zealand arrived in the afternoon for tea and cake. The friends they are staying with came too, so that was jolly. They were very disappointed that they weren’t met with the expected hysterical barking - Archie wasn’t there. The carrot cake was scrumptious.

Then our neighbour from across the road came to tell us all about her recent holiday in Valencia - marvellous. It's on our list! Elizabeth and Archie joined us for a glass of bubbles.

Phew! A busy indoor day. Which was fine, as it rained almost all day.
