Wooli Beach taken from the Breakwall

After a rather late last night toasting in 2013 we decided we should do something on NYs day rather than lying around the house recuperating. To get out of town we decided to drive down to Wooli and Minnie Waters which are little places on the beach, about an hour south, and tucked away off any of the main highways. It is a bit like stepping back in time to the 50's. Wooli has a few nice homes but still lots of original beach shacks, some fibro and some timber in various states of repair or disrepair. There is a Caravan park, it has a tiny little old takeaway joint which makes the best burgers (just like burgers used to be) and also sells fish and chips and other bits and pieces. Attached is a little cafe (hardly anyone in it) and there is a Bowling Club with the usual Chinese Restaurant attached. There is a beautiful river and and picnic spots and a lovely beach but that is about all. Minnie Waters is much the same only has some more upmarket homes on the beach but just a little shop and not much else except the beautiful beaches and a National Park camping area. We had burgers for lunch and then icecreams and fortunately had a big walk along the beach afterwards. Very tired now though! It could be an early night tonight. I hope everyone has had a good NY celebration and lets hope 2013 is a good one for all of us.
PS probably better in large.
