Lunch in town
Today we were taking Hazel, our neighbour, out for a birthday lunch, but she wanted to take us for a drink first to a new place (to us) which was down in the basement of the same building. And it was worth it, because it was spectacular. Terrific decor, all in the old vaults of the former bank.
Then we went up the stairs to Hawksmoor for the best steak and chips in town. We've been before (and I complained about the awful muzak) but we're always ready for a good steak (and chips).
But what about poor wee Archie? you ask. Michael kindly changed his timetable and took Archie out as we left, popping him back in the house when they'd finished. I left his favourite old bone with a bit of carrot stuffed into it, which would have kept him busy for ages. In fact, he was still obsessing with it when we came home.
Wine at lunchtime... we both had to have a snooze when we came home...
