A very relaxing day as both families went out. #2 to a zoo ahoy 90 minutes away, and #3 to a nearby town with a lovely church and a tower to climb.

I finished reading The Last September by Elizabeth Bowen. Just fantastic writing. A real sense of imminent change. Started Pat Barker’s The Silence of the Girls about the Trojan Wars from the perspective of the women.

When Ella and Nathaniel got back they enjoyed the pool, trying to jump in in sync.
