Mid Autumn Festival, Singapore

The second leg of our journey was very good and I was lucky as no-one else was sat in my row of seats so I was able to lie across the three seats and slept on an off.  I woke up about 2.5 hours before we were due to land in Singapore so I watched the film Red Joan with Judi Dench which was excellent.

I was actually off the plane before Alan and once we'd met up we went through passport control quite quickly, collected our bags and went to find our driver.  We arrived at our hotel and have been upgraded to a room on a high floor which is great, and after unpacking and having a shower we went to get some food.  My Brighton Skies friend Audrey is an air hostess for BA and she comes to Singapore a lot and recommended an outdoor street food place, near Marina Bay Sands so we followed her instructions and found it.  The atmosphere was great, full of mostly locals and the food was good and cheap!

Our next port of call was Gardens by the Bay to see the mid autumn festival illuminations, thanks to Ingeborg for help in suggestions for things to do and see whilst we're here.  May favourite installation was this Chinese dragon arch, and luckily because it was quite late by the time we got there, I was able to get a few shots without too many people in the way.

We wandered back to the hotel about 10.30pm and both of us were flagging by this point.  We had a quick drink in the lobby bar and then headed to bed.  We're glad we went out though, it was nice to get some air and stretch our legs after being sat on planes for so long.  It was also interesting to see the F1 circuit which is practically fully installed ahead of the Singapore Grand prix  the weekend after next, which sadly we'll miss.
