Diary of an Edinburgher

Wasn’t that just the sweetest thing - that wee Japanese boy (Scotland's mascot) singing 'Flower of Scotland' along with the lads. (Extra)

Got a few jobs done before the match - painted another coat on the mantlepiece, it looks OK now. Washing done, breakfasted and showered, ready for the 11.15 match kick off. Thank goodness Scotland won - so their World Cup isn’t over yet - though at no point was I confident. And they can’t drop the ball so many times when playing Japan!

I just love how the players respect the decisions of the referee. No arguing or bad manners - contrast this with football. And the use of the TMO to make sure unsafe tackles are punished.

JR went to get some flowers from the garden centre, and while there, get this month's free coffee. Archie and I wandered down to the hardware shop to get some wood filler for some gaps in the mantlepiece, which are now noticeable now that it's white.

He dragged me past the first coffee shop, so we walked on to the brand new one - I’ve been watching the progress - which gave him a longer walk. Win win.

And a Scotland win!
