Diary of an Edinburgher

Painting and shredding

Dave came to fix the bathroom underfloor heating. It was just unfortunate that nobody was actually up when he rang the doorbell at 8am (we'd been told 8.30). It was just a faulty fuse in the heating setup - easily fixed.

I wandered down to the local paint shop to pick up a test pot of dark blue - we decided that some white frames on some paintings needed a change. On the way I popped in to see Rufus and his mum. I was shown Rufus's new outfit for the upcoming 'Puppies and Prosecco Party'. Archie will wear what he wore, reluctantly, last year.

JR took Archie for a big walk, while I painted a couple of frames (no paint on my jumper!) and continued shredding loads of folders of old pay slips ('DO NOT DESTROY'), bank statements, winter fuel payments, and even employment records from NZ. I got rid of about six big fat card folders, and now have a couple of wee thin plastic ones. Result.

A couple came to meet Archie. The husband is very allergic to dogs, but the wife is desperate to get one (and keep the husband). He's met a schnauzer before, with no reactions, and no reactions this time either. Usually he'd know he's allergic within minutes. So they were quite delighted. And the wife taught him (Archie) a new trick - 'crawl' - which needs a bit of working on...

We have a BREXIT deal! I don’t understand how one person can say it's a great deal, and another person says it's the worst deal in the world.
