Pinnacles
After yesterday’s clear skies today dawned clear and cold but soon clouded over. We had seen signs to some Earth Pyramids near the campsite at Niederrason, so drove up to the parking and walked from there to the pinnacles near the wee village of Percha. There is a small area of pinnacles where a river has cut through the glacial deposits to leave these features, most of which have a large capstone that helps protect them from the weather. The blip is of the pinnacles and the extra more pinnacles and also the scenery nearby. As the weather forecast was better for Italy tomorrow we decided to go over a high pass and stay near Meran so we could look around there. However the campsites were all full as it’s a holiday weekend in Germany and the weather was not so good in Austria. Luckily at one of the full campsites a helpful soul told us about a car park that overnight parking is tolerated so we ended up there.
Yesterday’s blip.
