Ullswater from above Howtown

Pretty much exactly as forecast. Overcast, drizzle first thing followed by more organised rain in the afternoon.

No matter, we had Magic Trousers and good waterproof shell which meant we could catch the Ullswater Steamer from Glenridding to Howtown walking back along the Ullswater Way to the hotel.

Always a fine walk with beautiful views of lake and fells not spoilt too much by the weather. The dampness of the day may have deterred others so there were not many walkers on the trail. The extra is at our lunch stop looking out over the lake to Gowbarrow

Very pleasant to get back to the hotel, put all the wet stuff to dry and go downstairs for complimentary tea and scones which came with the deal. Warm bath, drinks and dinner will round off the day nicely.
