Goat Gap

Met a friend at the Goat Gap Cafe with the aim of having a walk then lunch. It was hailing so we had lunch first. After lunch it hailed again so I gave her a lift home (she had walked to the cafe in the rain and was damp) .
I searched the current OS map for Goat Gap to no avail. Friend P told me that it existed as a place on old maps circa 1600 and there used to be a Goat Gap Inn but it closed in 2001. A local chef in 2017 took over a  former and disused LIttle Chef site nearby, borrowed the name from the old pub (now a house) and opened up a fine cafe. Excellent food, well worth stopping on the A 65 for.
