Christmas food
Lord, I seem to have been doing the Christmas food shopping for days now. To be honest, I think I've always known the scale of what needed to be bought - two days' food for nine people - but shied away from both the cost and logistics of trying to do it all in one go.
Day one, whenever that was, consisted of all the obvious stuff like loaves of bread, cartons of milk, blocks of cheese, and masses of vegetables. On Sunday I picked up a turkey crown and crisps and booze, although there was another booze shop, yesterday, along with various other bits and pieces.
And I thought we were done except that we drank all the mulled wine at some point so I had to go out and buy more, today. But actually going around 'big Asda' in Chorley with the Minx this afternoon was quite enjoyable; we clearly had waaaay less to buy than most people.
And in the evening we went for dinner at the Minx's sister's house. She has recently - and wholeheartedly - converted to being vegan. All of the food she'd made was somewhere on the axis between good and amazing! She'd even done something incredible with some cauliflower. Now that's a Christmas miracle.
