Diary of an Edinburgher

Distressed!

JR took Archie out at about 8am as usual, but came straight back in to announce that our car window had been smashed. And so I’ve had quite a full on, stressful day, more of which later.

JR's favourite day - two gym sessions, followed by a walk to the Commie Pool for an hour long Pilates session. She took Archie out in the afternoon (when I was otherwise engaged) and then went to pick up a 'click and collect' (new jumper) at Waitrose. Busy day.

I had a busy day too. The first three hours of it was taken up on the phone, ringing insurance, who referred me to the underwriter, then the garage and Police, who were so busy with 'incident reports' they're going to ring me back tomorrow. Oh, and sweeping up all the tiny bits of glass on the road and in the car.

I rang the same garage that we used last time (a couple of years ago) and then drove down there. Unbeknown to me, most of Leith is being dug up and roads closed while they continue with the ill-fated tram concept. I went round and round the back roads of Leith, trying to get to the garage, but Constitution Street is CLOSED. I eventually had to ring the garage and ask how to get there (round the back). I was VERY stressed. But I did like this dilapidated shop front.

However, I walked down to Toast to have lunch, then walked to a nearer cafe (Rocksalt) for a coffee, and two hours later I rang the garage and it was finished! Yay. (4,391 7,300 steps)

Tonight we are going down to Elizabeth's for drinkies. I feel that I definitely deserve a drink (or two) tonight.
