Everything is peachy
I picked up Diane at the Charlotte Airport at 10am and we started on the first day of our historic places road trip. First stop was the Waffle House for breakfast...historic waffles and coffee!
Then a short ride to the Kings Mountain National Historic Site and the Kings Mountain State Park. We had a nice walk on the battle mountain trail and then a trip to the "farm" at the state park. A photo of the barn at the farm in the extras.
Then on to our bed and breakfast at Tryon, North Carolina, just across the state line. It is a wonderful place which is very much like an old inn. Photos tomorrow as it is just a so photoworthy.
But as we drove along Hwy 11 near Gaffney, South Carolina, I spotted some pink in the distance which I knew were peach trees. I found a little dirt road to pull of the highway so we could get out to take a few photos of the blossoms. I love peach tree blossoms.
After we got settled in our room, we found some supper at the Hare and Hound in Landrum where I was supposed to eat last Friday with my cousins. Excellent clam chowder!
A quick drive up to Campbells covered bridge where we took photos almost in the dark and then back to the inn for the night. A photo in the extra of Diane at the bridge.
More adventures tomorrow which will be waterfalls!
Commenting may be very minimal for the next few days. I will try to get the stars and hearts done but time will be limited.
