Dendrobium

Several weeks ago Kanyl increased my Orchid collection by giving me this Dendrobium Keiki.  It had at the time two small buds.   Finally they have come into full flower.  Another day round home so not much inspiration.

Dendrobiums belong to a genus of some 1800 species.  This seems a lot but it must be remembered Orchids are the most widespread and diverse group of plants with somewhere in the region of 28,000 species.  Dendrobiums grow mainly above the ground on trees etc (epiphytic) or on rocks (Lithophytic).
