This morning, watching the sun rise over the incredible fall of snow that we got last night was beautiful. Katie loved it too. I told her there'd been more snow and she could barely believe it, until she ran to her window, unable to contain her excitement. We went out in it for a run and to make the first sets of footprints as we waited for our taxi to ballet. It was lovely. The sun was glittering on the snow, she loved the sparkly snow.
She so delighted to be at ballet. She said in the taxi "Mummy, I've missed my ballet". When her little friend Isla came in, Katie was in the middle of being fitted with new ballet shoes. She pulled away, shoe hanging off and ran to hug her. Her new ballet shoes were bugging her for part of the class, but once we'd sorted the issue, she had a fabulous time. Her giggles of delight at being there with her little group of ballet friends was lovely.
She fell asleep in the taxi home. Our taxi got stuck in our street - we'd suggested he didnt come down but because she was a sleep, he was being a gentleman. And got stuck. So the neighbours and I helped him away, then built a snowman with the remaining pile. We then cleared another neighbour out of the snow, building a big mound that is tomorrow to be made into a snowman.
We spent the afternoon at a joint party for two of her friends from the first nursery she went to. She was really excited about going and seeing Brooke, but was rather tired out still and a bit overwhelmed and fragile at some points. It was lovely to catch up with friends we dont get to see enough of. They also pointed me in the direction of a great sounding swim-school that I may try Katie with, bonus!
