Finished Castin

There was mist hanging over the hills most of the day, but plenty of sunny spells around Scalloway.   A lovely calm evening, and beautiful sunshine.  Lovely and warm, in the high teens.

I've taken a long weekend off work, and up early to crack on with the day.  A morning around the house, and then off to the peat hill for the day, and this evening.  Mam popped along the peat hill too, and gave a hand for a bit.  Big Brian and Madeline popped by, and a chat over the fence, and then sister Laura and Shaun did too later.  Walkies with Sammy, and now feet up by the fire.  Looking like the Scalloway Fire Festival will be cancelled next year, due to a lack of building materials, and possibly the Lerwick Up Helly Aa too.

Another busy day in the peat hill, and feeling it on my knees.  I've got to the bottom of the bank, and finished casting for this year.  There is still a few peerie bits to tidy up, but I'll do that next week.  It's way more than I need, but needed to get the bank ready for next year, and will be easier to work.  I have given away loads of bags left over from last year, with a donation to the NHS.  Taken at the Hill of Fitch, Tingwall.
