A TV day...
The predicted hoolie arrived, and at one point our neighbour rang to tell us to move our car - the big communal bin was being hurled around the street, and had whizzed across the road bumping into the car next to us! They’ve just been emptied, so don’t weigh much. It’s now wedged in the gutter, so hopefully no more travels.
I took Archie round the block, and look who we found - a wee sparrow chick was sitting on the pavement looking lost. Archie had a wee gentle sniff of it, and I popped it through the gate to find its mum. Archie craned his neck to see it scuttle off.
Elizabeth took Archie out for the day, and they managed to avoid any rain. They had their usual looong walk all over the place.
I persuaded JR to abandon her plans to clean all the windows, and go out for a walk instead. But a few spots of rain came on (but didn’t amount to much) so we abandoned the idea.
Instead, we watched three programmes I’d recorded about Australian films (David Stratton’s Stories of Australian Cinema). He has been a film critic for decades in Australia, and chatted to many of the actors, writers, producers and directors. It was very interesting. I was reminded that my all time favourite film is ‘Muriel’s Wedding’.
