The Sphinx

In Greek mythology the Sphinx was mythicised as treacherous and merciless and like the Egyptian version dealt in riddles.

Feels appropriate for today as the Cummings and Goings evolve.   As I think Jonathan Powell said on the radio this morning, if this had been a Permanent Secretary who had been caught doing what Mr Cummings had done he would have not had the same Ministerial support.

Unusually our dog, when let out this morning, adopted this pose instead of running up and down growling at the neighbour's dog.  Set the tone for the day.
