WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Faces at the Window

Today we took Fiddlesticks on a little trip to Skipton and beyond as far as Bradley where we had our lunch on the back deck.
It was lovely and warm and the skies were at times blue and sunny and then grey but it didn't rain.
We moored up in Skipton on the way back and made the decision to be brave and walk around town. It was OK. We wore our masks and it was easy to keep 2 mtr distance as the pavements are wide.
I actually went into some small shops - with a little trepidation I might add - and they were well organised. Markings on the floor, one way system and hand sanitizer for customers.
I went to Boots for Ibuprofen and a new lipstick! ( I've scraped my others out right to the bottom! I went to The Grape Tree for granola ingredients and then to The Art Shop for paintbrushes.
All went well...I hope!

We arrived back at the boat and had a cuppa on the back deck. A young mum with her two young children stopped to stroke Bella and the little boy - Hugo aged 4 was fascinated by the boat. He wanted to come in but I told him he wasn't allowed and explained to him why. He knew all about distancing so was quite happy when I told him and his little sister to look through the windows.
Under normal circumstances we would have invited them on board and taken them for a little pootle (haha YellowBalloon ;-)
Anyway I told him that after lockdown if we see them again we definitely would.
His Mum had to drag him away and as she did so he blew me kisses. Oh and he had a big chunk of hair missing at the front where he'd tried to cut it himself! Such a cutie :-)
His mum is from Latvia and her husband from Ireland so those kids won't be seeing their grandparents either.

Anyway, it's book and bedtime so goodnight.

:-) X
