The reading rooms....
A lack of photos today so as they say , here’s one I made earlier...
Had the terrier at the vet for his annual jags on Tuesday. Had to tie him up outside the door and stand back while the vet collected him and took him inside . He wasn’t too keen on that idea though !
While we were waiting I went for a look at some of these blue plaques dotted around the village.
What is now a vets was originally a reading room for the locals. The Dundas family are still local landowners and are our landlords.
Apart from being a vet surgery now, this building was the doctors surgery when I was a child. It was replaced by a new build surgery in the 1980’s in part of a field we used to farm.
The rest of the fields we used to harvest are now all houses. I bet the folk that live there never think twice about what used to be there before. And the endless loss of the best of land marches on all round Edinburgh and the Lothians and the whole country. That’s progress for you !
