Bishop of Llandaff

Today's the day ……………………….. for a happy return

This gorgeously showy, but yet modestly attired dahlia goes under the name of the Bishop of Llandaff. 

It's the very first flower to open on a bush that will continue to delight us through the coming months.  It was my brother, Ron, who introduced us to the Bishop  in his own wonderful garden in Edinburgh.  And ever since he did, we have always made sure that we had one (or two) ourselves.

It's Ron's birthday today and so this blip is for him.  He has always been more than generous in sharing his garden and all that grows there.  Thanks for that Ron - and Many Happy Returns! on your birthday ……………….
