Shou Sugi Ban

This is the ancient Japanese way of treating wood to make it last and is what my Garden Guy is doing to the fencing and to a pergola he is going to build for me! It is absolutely stunning to look at! It's probably going to take another 2 weeks to complete the garden - I hope we get an Indian Summer so I can enjoy sitting in it!
