Diary of an Edinburgher

If in doubt, use black

A wet round-the-block walk this morning for Archie and JR, but as the day went on the sun came out. There were a few light showers, but we didn’t get wet on our outing.

We took a walk along to Causewayside, as I wanted a coffee as a reward at the end of it. We went to a wee cafe we’ve been to before, August 21 (it was their anniversary today, August 21st) and had good coffees and a scone. Lovely and peaceful with no muzak. (THANK YOU Nicola!) Archie wasn’t keen to go in, but stood nicely and watched people eating. The title is actually what it says on the neon sign on the wall, though it’s illegible - I had to ask. I think it was done by somebody just practising.

We came back through the Meadows, so that’s another good round trip with my caffeine fix catered for and Archie having a good run around. (6,064 steps). There was a wee shower and we stood under a tree, then it had passed over and we got home in sunshine.

The Links looked lovely, and we’re missing whizzing round them on our bikes. I put my bike into the shop on Sunday to fit the new pedals - can’t wait!

The hedge is almost the worst one in the street. Maybe tomorrow...
