Diary of an Edinburgher

Hedge trimmed!

Today was the day. The hedge was trimmed. It took us just about all day. I did the sides then JR, after her run, did the top. Mind you, an extra hour was added because - yes - I cut the cord again. Just a little bang, and a wee puff of smoke. And the fuse blown. That battery operated hedge trimmer is getting nearer...

Archie went off for the day with Elizabeth, and it was nice to be able to have to door open while we were in and out - he can’t really be out the front unsupervised because he barks at everyone going by. And there were lots of neighbours stopping for a chat.

Later on, Hazel popped over to try a special new wine (that she brought) so JR made some nibbles from her new book. Pretzel and her mum were just passing, so they came in for a wee drink too. They had good news - they have bought a new (bigger) house and will be moving soon, which is not such good news. We love having Pretzel to visit.

Elizabeth arrived back with Archie and joined in the fun for a wee while, at one point she had both dogs on her lap.

I put my bike in tomorrow to get my new shorter pedals.

Oh, the hedge looks just lovely!
