kristi

ok, so kristi is not technically in zambia right now, but i couldn't write about the people who have made an impact on my life in zambia without talking about her. so a skype picture will just have to do.

our friends, john and priya, recommended that me and kristi share the guesthouse at mr and mrs p's house. it was a risky move on their part because if we'd hated each other we would have definitely blamed them!

thankfully, we didn't hate each other! i'd say we knew pretty early on that living together was going to work. there are some people in life that you just click with effortlessly and kristi is one of those people for me. i honestly can't think of anyone i'd rather have shared a home with. we had a lot of fun times together involving wine, dancing, squash, very early nights, pick 'n' pay, mrs p's brownies, sharing the smallest tent in the world, more wine, more dancing and the successful passing of a kidney stone.

i love that when i look back at my time in zambia, almost all of my memories include kristi and always involve a lot of fun. mostly i just love the fact that whatever kind of day i'd had, or she'd had, we'd spend the evening together and feel better by the end of it.

it's pretty sweet to be leaving zambia after 3 years, not only with some great memories, but also with some great friends. and kristi is one of the greatest.

(ps. thanks john and priya for your initial suggestion. i guess you know us both well!)

(i'm taking a break from my normal blipping routine and from now until i leave i will be posting portraits of the people that i love here in zambia. i might put them all together at the end to make a mammoth picture to hang on my wall, but mostly they will stay here on blip so i can remember these lovely people).
