Playing With Scale
Inspired by yesterday's close up images, I used the extension tube again today. I noticed that working near the minimum focusing distance with the aperture fairly wide, rendered the out of focus sun quite large in the frame. The effect placed very small subjects against a very large object, creating a distortion of scale.
In my first attempts the sun was over exposed and blown out, but as the sun set, light levels reduced enough to produce an orange glow. Being opposites on the colour wheel, the blue flowers contrast nicely against an orange sky.
In the extra, the sun was behind a tree in the background, splitting it into two golden globes.
