Beauty is all around us.

Whalley. Lancashire.

As Paul is on his annual leave, we are taking each day as it comes and depending on the weather, having day trips to places we enjoy visiting.
This morning it was cold but dry, so we re visited a much loved place, Whalley village and the ruins of Whalley Abbey. There are very good laminated information boards describing the fascinating history, dating to 1296 when Abbot Gregory was there, leading the Cistercian Monks.
The garden area still looked colourful and full of well tended shrubs. The gardeners were working dilligently.
The building on the middle left hand side of my collage, is a beautiful Catholic church. They have Stations of the Cross in the front garden area surrounded by tall mature beech trees.
The back garden has benches and a statue of Mother Mary and a few other saints.
Thanks for visiting my journal, and have a lovely day blip friends.
