Forever Autumn
I thought our garden was quite colourful during spring and summer, but it seems to have excelled itself now that autumn has arrived. Fortunate enough to have taken this after the rain stopped at lunchtime and the sun came out briefly. And that’s one of the things I like about this time of year - the outside world is changing on a daily (sometimes hourly!) basis as the leaves turn and fall. Whether it’s because we’re spending extra time at home, and therefore notice it more, but the colours do seem to be particularly spectacular this year.
Actually, it’s not been a bad afternoon all round after the rain stopped. Was going to go for a run but a few sporadic showers and an aching knee meant it was the safety of the gym instead.
In the interests of protecting dodgy joints, I dropped the weights slightly and concentrated on technique. Seems to have worked as all muscles stood up to the punishment inflicted upon them without protesting too loudly!
Back home and fire on now, ready for a quiet evening slumped in front of the telly. It’s such a calm and peaceful evening, it’s almost possible to believe there isn’t a global pandemic raging around us. In order to maintain that illusion for a little while, I shall avoid all news media tonight....
