Blowin’ in the Wind
Storm Aiden swept through Kendal this morning. Got thoroughly soaked filling up the car, in spite of being right under the canopy - the rain was both torrential and horizontal at that point!
Amazingly, by the time I’d paid and we were driving out of the petrol station, the rain had stopped and the skies were clearing again. Would have loved to have got a picture of the rain but, quite frankly, I was trying not to get soaked and they frown on you pulling out mobile phones on the forecourt anyway!
Arrived home to discover the garden had not escaped unscathed. If you saw my blip of 7 days ago, you will know that this Acer was hanging on to its leaves. Not any longer! And with the tail end of Hurricane Zeta forecast for tomorrow I suspect those few remaining leaves will soon be gone.
Wasn’t going to visit the gym today, but the leaked news of an imminent national lockdown meant I thought I’d better go while I still could. At the time of writing this, we’ve not heard anything official, as Boris keeps putting back the time of the briefing, but I’m not hopeful that it will be anything less than a full lockdown. It’s going to be just like March again. But without the nice weather.....
