Veester

A sunny morning, as the day went on, cloud came in, winds picked up and raining this evening.

I've been working in the museum all day, and we had Ability Shetland in this morning.  A quiet evening at home.  I did manage to get out walkies with Sammy, when it wasn't too wet.  Another coronavirus case linked to NHS Shetland, but they're currently on the mainland.

Continuing from yesterday, this is possibly where 4x great grandparents Ursula and Magnus Jamieson lived, from 1800 - 1822, maybe longer.  They had 8 bairns here, my 3x great granny Margaret being the youngest, born in 1822.  Margaret at age 20, married 3x great granddad John Smith (Scarpness b. 1812) in 1842.  She moved in with him, staying at Sotrigarth, having the first 2 bairns there.  They moved to North Moors by 1851, where they had 4 more bairns, including my 2x great granny Margaret (Smith), born 1857.  By 1861, they moved next door to the Moors.  They later move to Aithsetter, Cunningsburgh, also 3 of their bairns move there too with new families, including 2x great granny Margaret.  John passed away 1887, with Margaret passing away in 1897, both at Aithsetter.  There was two possibilities for their home here, this ruin or the other demolished and under the sheds to the centre right.  Taken at Veester, Sandwick.
