The blue house

The plan for today was to get the bikes and have a cycle at Rutland Water (the eldest isn't the best on his bike and I'm trying to get him to be on his bike to get his confidence up and hopefully ditch the stabilisers at some point!).

The idea didn't go down well and the request from both of them was to visit the blue house at Burghley (the blue house is the sentry box outside the house).  So, I didn't see the point in putting up a fight and off we went.  After visiting their requested 'house' They ran around, and around, and around, before the youngest gave up and burst into tears because he wanted to go back to the blue house... so we pressed on a little more until we reached a suitable turn-around point and went back.  They needed a bit of cajoling along the way back, with lots of running together and spinning each of them around.  They thought it was fun, I thought it was exhausting.

The rest of the day was pretty non-descript.  I made a treasure hunt around the house, which they loved.

Today I'm grateful for:
Running around Burghley, the eldest especially loves to run
The joyous hugs when the husband came home
Fun around the house with the treasure hunt

Extra is Burghely, it's pretty hard to take a bad picture of the place I think!
