Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Even MORE snow! Fantastic. The plumber did not come at 8.30 because of the ‘bad weather’. Just as well it’s not desperate.

I did not go on the bike this morning, as I got caught in front of the tennis. A great game between Kyrgios and Humbert, where Kyrgios fought back to win.

When it was over, JR had a zoom fitness session, so Archie and I went out for a wander. And it was quite hard going! The snow was very deep in parts, but the pavements were easier to walk on than the roads. Archie went along snorting and grunting, wiping his beard in the snow. And when we go to the Links he had a good run around and face dig in the lovely soft fluffy white stuff.

We fair trudged up our road, both quite tired by now. JR was coming out the door, wanting to go for a walk, so she took Archie straight off again. But she soon came back. Archie had had enough too. His legs were covered with ice balls, and his beard was frozen. He needed to stand in some warm water and then be wrapped up in a towel instead.

JR then went off for a walk with Hazel, so everyone was all happy. I watched an amazing winter sport - a mixed team (men and women) relay, round a snowy course, up and down and on the flat - on skis! Then they had to use the rifle they carried and shoot at targets! Crazy sport, but very watchable.

Our path, which JR cleared this afternoon, is covered in snow again!
