High Water Everywhere
Went on a short walk of discovery this afternoon, hoping to be able to get near the local reservoir. Unfortunately, all access points were firmly chained up due to livestock being present, so I had to be content with this view through the railings, of the main overspill. According to a plaque nearby, it took 11 months from the dam being completed to the water first overflowing in January 1900.
I also went for a run this morning. A bit of a slow plod, but I’d not been out for over a fortnight due to a combination of bad weather and a dodgy Achilles Tendon. Still sore at the end of the run, but no more than it was at the start, so I’ll count that as a good sign.
In other news, we edged a little closer to possibly moving house. We’ve seen one we like, I’ve got some ball park quotes for the work that would need doing, and our estate agent reckons our flat in Chester will easily sell for the figure we were thinking of.
Which just leaves the question of whether or not the vendors of the house we’re after will accept a low offer. It’s definitely overpriced and has been on the market since last August. Given that realistically priced properties are being snapped up very quickly, I’m assuming they are holding out for a high price. I think we’ll wait for the estate agents to contact us before making an opening offer though - no point in appearing too keen!
