Sunset (on a life)
The news today has been dominated by the passing of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. All BBC radio programmes were replaced by a single feed to commemorate his life.
On a personal note I saw him three times, firstly as a schoolboy in 1977, during the Silver Jubilee celebrations. It is the other occasions I remember more fondly, when we visited carriage driving events nearby. It was a sign of the man that the last time was when he acted as an obstacle judge, well into his 90s, when his driving days were over. It is perhaps a sign of the man that he should give of himself, that others can enjoy and serve.
