April ends

Deep pink cherry blossom smothering the boughs of this tree which grows in a front garden of a house in the village. A welcome cheering sight on my lunchtime wander.

The last day of April. Finally we had some rain. It only lasted about 20 minutes but it was enough to soak the surface of the ground. The forecast looks as if we’ll get some more rain next week. I hope so. We very much need it. It remains cold for the time of year.

The May Day bank holiday is upon us. Very much looking forward to and feeling in need of an extra day off work.
