Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

No apologies!

JR went to the gym. Archie went out with Robert, after I had spent much of the morning trying to keep him in a different part of the house from the painters outside. They kept moving from the back to the front - they have to build the scaffolding and then take it down again. I did a wee bit of light housework, no weights session, no yoga.

When Robert came back, he was invited in for a cuppa (Extra 1) - the first time for about a year! We then got a text from JR’s gym pal who owns the vintage clothing shops  - she was in her Cockburn Street one for the afternoon (she moves around all three shops) if we were to happen by...

And so we did. The Meadows is STILL glorious, so no apologies for yet another blossom blip! They can’t last much longer.

We walked down Cockburn Street, intending to have a coffee (and a pastry) at our favourite cafe. BUT... someone was on OUR window bench seat!  Luckily, they have another branch at the bottom of the street.

We popped in to see Carol, and her wee dog Roxy (Extra 2) and persuaded her to nip out and have a coffee (and a slice of lavender and chocolate cake - which was better than it sounds) with us.

We then walked through the Gardens and to my surprise, JR and Archie came home on the bus with me. It was a sunny, warmish day, for a change. Back to rain tomorrow, probably.
