Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie’s good manners!

Unusual morning: JR did NOT go to the gym and it was NOT raining. Not even particulary cold.

No, there was another plan in place - to take several bags of stuff to the charity shop as soon as it opened. They have been cluttering up the place for months! I then did my bike, because I was going to the new physio today.

A new prospective walker came to meet Archie. A young woman from Brazil, in her third year of medical science. She can’t, of course, go home to her family (she doesn’t want to anyway, as the pandemic is very bad there). But she’s stuck in a flat, doing online lessons and not socialising (though many of her flatmates/ friends have been). My heart goes out to these young people far from home in a pandemic, but Beatrice has done the right thing by joining BorrowMyDoggie! She takes another couple of dogs out, but one’s an aggressive chihuahua who bit a child’s finger, and another is a schnauzer who bites her when she puts on the lead. So she was Very Impressed with Archie’s good manners. And his tricks. JR accompanied them to the Hermitage, though Beatrice is familiar with that walk.

I went to the physio in the surgery. She reckoned it IS a variation of what the back specialist mentioned last week, which the doctor had dismissed. She’s sending me for a new MRI to check any deterioration in my back. All good!

Popped in to the ex-neighbour’s flat to be shown in all the cupboards and how everything works. He has put it on AirB&B, as it hasn’t sold, and it’s booked out with a couple for the whole of June. JR has kindly offered to look after it for him.

Uncle A news: He’s not home this week as it’s too late to organise home help, which he has agreed to. This is fantastic news!
