At last

The azaleas and rhododendrons are really late this year but the last 2 hot days have brought them on.

I cooked a big breakfast for the chaps before they hit the road back to Suffolk. They have had all sorts of problems with the rented van which I hope will be dealt with
before the next customers pick it up.

Then we had the day to ourselves. Mr C manfully weeded and planted. I cleaned up and finished the Outer Hebrides book. How many pictures of turquoise beaches do I need? There’s a Blurb 40% offer on but I’m
missing a photo I want to add - I know I have one of #1 daughter aged 11 walking up the track at Loch Skiphort and I wanted to put it beside the one I took of Mr C there.

#2 daughter and family are in Northern Ireland visiting the other grandparents - first time since last summer. Apparently Thomas and James escaped out of the bedroom window in their underpants this morning. Not the usual happenings in the genteel cul de sac.

#3 daughter took the children yesterday to what Ella says is the best restaurant ever, the Botanist overlooking Grey’s Monument. Then Nathaniel had his dream day, Waterstones book shop, the Hancock museum to see TRex and then sushi. Today they played rugby at Durham.

I found it too hot to sit in the sun reading the biography of Sylvia Pankhurst so I came inside and tried to make progress with the knitted coat. Second sleeve - almost done
