Hay Day

As we are heading home tomorrow we decided to spend the day in Hay-On-Wye and get ‘round as many shops as we could. Had a lovely time - visited several bookshops, craft shops and coffee shops and met lots of people. It’s a very sociable place and you find yourself talking to new people every day.

 This is the remarkable Adderleys which has about a dozen little rooms like this, each one different and quite enchanting.

Managed to get a couple of lovely books on Marc Chagal. Treated myself to vegan peanut butter ice cream in the locally famous Shepherd’s ice cream parlour and coffee shop. Had a lovely walk along the river and an afternoon snooze in the sunshine. Beer in the three tuns where we met unlikely boozing bedfellows - a lawyer, a builder and a chef - then home for supper and a last walk around Painscastle and a drink in the Roast Ox Inn.
