Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie goes shopping

An action-packed day, especially for JR, with extra walking and her gym session.

We had been invited out for lunch with Christine, and we went to Honeycomb, where we haven’t been since before lockdown last year. It’s dog friendly, and Archie lay down under the table and was very good. We had an excellent lunch. And we heard all about the new puppy (Dougal) - arriving next weekend. Christine is SO excited.

From there, we took the bus into town, as we wanted to go and browse sofas again. I did not give it my full attnetion last time. We got the tram round a few blocks and the lift straight up to the sofa department. Archie was very unsure of the lift, because you could see out.

We had a browse, and picked a sofa, and we’re getting sample materials sent. Then as we went to leave, we spotted another sofa we liked. Too much choice! We did look for sofas a couple of years ago, and even went through to Glasgow for the day to sit on one. But we’re back to thinking of getting new ones. Our (very) old ones are rather saggy, and we might as well get the use out of new ones now, instead of in ten years time.

Besides, we have booked a new cruise to replace the abandoned Norway cruise. And it’s cheaper! So we’ll get a refund, which will pay for two one and a half new sofas. Win win.

JR and Archie walked home, while I took a tram, then the bus, both without waiting! I LOVE that.

Check out Archie reading the signs in the shop. How did they know about his muddy paws? (Extra)
