Can we take this home, mum?
Archie’s walk day with Robert, and JR to the gym. I chatted to Kevin, our window cleaner while he washed our windows. Actually, it was really hot and sunny in the morning, but then clouded over later. When the boys came back, Robert came in for a cold beer. Archie went AWOL for a while - off up the path with a couple of schnauzers - we think it must have been Sammy and Rosie, two dogs he’s familiar with, and they’re often out with different walkers.
In the afternoon we decided to go and visit a garden we knew about but have never been. Funnily enough, two people recently have mentioned it to us, so we went. It’s Dr Neil’s Garden, in a wonderful setting right on Duddingston Loch. I have often driven by in the evening, and the setting sun shines directly into the garden and the house. No dogs allowed (though we met a wee schnauzer, Maud, who must be the resident dog), so Archie stayed at home with his bone.
We tried to get into the Sheep Heid Inn Scotland’s oldest pub, but a) we forgot our masks and b) we had to have booked anyway.
This jazzy zebra sofa has been by the bin for days now. Funnily enough, nobody has claimed it and taken it home. Wonder why…
