We left Bella May on the boat this morning while we went shopping.
I spent my Fatface voucher on a lovely cotton hoodie in duckegg blue and some trainer socks. I was going to get some boot cut jeans - BUT - I tried my size (12 ish)on and couldn't even get the zip anywhere near to closing!
The jeans I had on are from there and only recently bought - they are a size 12 and a bit baggy. What is it with sizing these days?
Next I went to Waterstones and treated myself to 2 brand new books - buy one get one half price. The latest Anne Tyler 'Redhead by the Side of the Road' and Maggie O'Farrel's 'Hamnet'.
Frank had done a clothes sort out this morning and we took 2 carrier bags to a charity shop. No wonder he had no room in his drawer and his share of the wardrobe on board!
Back at the boat Bella was excited to see us as if we'd been away for a week. She has spent the rest of the day snoozing in the sun - yes I said SUN! :-D
We let another couple of kids have a wander through the boat while I was talking to their dad. They had stopped to see Bella. The 6 year old was a Down's syndrome boy called Aiden and was so excited to be allowed on board. He was full of questions and wanted to know how it all works. His little sister 2 year old Anushka was fearless and I was worried she might fall in! The dad was also a musician and said his wife is a fiddler too.
Loads of people stop for a chat when they see Bella lying there and she gets made a fuss of by everyone.
Chickpea and sweet potato curry for tea and it was delicious! Compliments to the chef - Frank ;-)
Going to read my book now - The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul. I want to finish it so I can start one of the new ones but I'm a slow reader and only a 3rd of the way through.
Thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts recently.
Goodnight :-)X
