Diary of an Edinburgher

More mochi!

Yes, I did move a bit more than yesterday - 7,615 steps. I took Archie out for a walk in the morning, and we tried a new (to us) cafe which had enormous cardamom buns. I brought a muffin back for JR from the other cafe.

Met Hazel on the way home and she came for a coffee in the front garden sunshine. Then Archie went crackers - who should appear at the gate but Elizabeth! We knew she was coming, of course, but hadn’t realised the time.

With Archie gone for the day, we decided to pop down to our favourite sushi restaurant. And after a fabulous meal, of course, we had to have my favourite dessert - a selection of mochi - chocolate, coconut, and cheesecake. I could not decided which was my favourite! (They kindly cut them in half as we were sharing).

Spotted this above a nearby door. Wonder what it means.(Extra)

Really missed the cricket when I came home. It’s been an almost daily treat for the last three weeks. And what an amazing men’s game last night! The chap who scored the most sixes in the whole tournament was batting and whacking the ball into the stands willy-nilly. It looked like he would lead them to victory. But one ball fell short, was picked up by the fielder right on the outfield, and he threw the ball and it hit the wickets and he was run out! Brilliant.
