A Sad Day for America
Very hot and muggy all day, threat of rain for later in the evening. Slept pretty good last night but still felt exhausted this morning. Tried to clean up our phones a bit since we’ve exceeded our back up space but more work to be done. Do I really need over 29,000 photos and several videos on my phone? While I was in the cleaning mood, I went to our cluttered basement and made a bit of progress. My next project will be some cross stitch gifts so I took inventory of my available supplies. We went shopping to pick up groceries and the DMC floss I need. But much of our day was glued to the news about the tragedy in Afghanistan today. Two of the service members there belong to our parish. Our heart breaks for those families who will receive the worst news today. May God have mercy on their souls and give strength to their families. Although we have not received word to lower our flag, Hubby and I felt the need to honor those who gave their lives for our protection. Mack still has chest pain but she was able to get up and do her school work. She will miss at least the first week of eighth grade. Chase is also a bit better. Thanks for stopping by. “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.”- Joseph Campbell.
