Pohutukawa
The closest thing to a forest for today’s theme was Sydney Park. We met at the entrance at 5, strolled around the rainforest area, then the city farm and finally the microbat nesting area (extra). The microbats are tiny, with a wingspan of 170mm, and fly out at evening to hunt for insects. I didn’t see any, but it wasn’t quite dark. Actually, I’ve never seen one.
The flowers might be pohutukawa, New Zealand Christmas bush, but the plant ID app is unreliable so happy to be corrected.
Thanks for hosting H0tamer.
